During a press conference before of Sikandar's release, Salman Khan spoke about receiving death threats from gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
Bollywood’s Bhaijaan Salman Khan has been busy promoting his forthcoming film Sikandar. This Eid, he will return to theaters in a fierce avatar with the A. R. Murugadoss action film, co-starring National Crush Rashmika Mandanna. Last night, the superstar had a special press conference in which he discussed his future projects, the age disparity with his co-stars, and the various death threats he has received from gangster Lawrence Bishnoi in connection with the 1998 Blackbuck poaching case. Salman revealed that he has left everything to God and knows how long he will live.
Salman Khan finally broke his silence about the death threats and open fire at his Bandra flat last year, saying, “Bhagwan, Allah sab unpar hai. Jitni umar, utni likhi hai. Bas yahi. Kabhi kabhi itne logon ko saath mein leke chalna padta hai, bas kya issue ho jaati hai. (Bhagwan, everything is up to Allah. I shall live for as long as I am destined to. Just that occasionally I have to move with two persons. That becomes an issue.)” The superstar’s millions of followers, as well as his family and friends, are praying for a long life and good health.
In 1998, while filming Hum Saath-Saath Hain, Salman and his co-stars Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Sonali Bendre, and Neelam were accused of reportedly killing a Blackbuck in the forests near Jodhpur. Since then, he has received death threats from mobster Lawrence Bishnoi and the Bishnoi gang, who hold the Blackbuck sacrosanct. Last year, in April, two men on a motorcycle opened fire on Salman’s Bandra residence. They were eventually detained, and the police discovered that Lawrence’s younger brother, Amnol Bishnoi, had plotted the attack. Later, in October 2024, former Maharashtra Cabinet Minister Baba Siddique was slain. The Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for the murder, citing his close relationship with Salman.
