The movie is a historical drama centered on the legendary Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, portrayed by Vicky Kaushal. It will reflect the daring Maratha ruler’s storied reign, which began with his coronation in 1681.

During the film’s marketing in Jaipur, Vicky spoke with the media about his preparation for the part. “A biopic requires extensive preparation not only for the performer but also for the entire team. Working on a historical subject is extremely difficult due to the large expense and creating a distinct age on screen. “We put in our best effort to ensure it felt completely authentic,” he explained.

As an actor, preparation is both physical and mental. He mentioned that the preparation involved action training, bodybuilding exercises, and in-depth historical research, all essential for understanding that era.

The movie is scheduled to premiere in theaters on February 14.

Vicky will next appear in the magnum opus Mahavatar, where he will play the famous warrior sage Parshurama. The film, inspired by Indian mythology, is set to be released in theaters around Christmas 2026.
