Yash Raj Films announces the release date of 'War 2'
Yash Raj Films said on Sunday that War 2, the latest episode in its ambitious Spy Universe, will be released worldwide in theaters on August 14.
Ayan Mukerji is directing the upcoming film, featuring Hrithik Roshan in the lead role. Roshan, who was also part of the first installment, War, returns to continue the story. Junior NTR appears in the sequel as well.
Yash Raj Films revealed War 2’s release date by re-sharing an unapproved promotional image from the film on its official X page.
“Must say…” “You have set it up brilliantly even before we have started our marketing for #War2… there will be mayhem in cinemas on 14 August 2025, worldwide,” the banner wrote in the tweet.
The YRF Spy Universe debuted in 2012 with Ek Tha Tiger, starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. Its success generated two sequels: Tiger Zinda Hai (2017) and Tiger 3 (2023).
War, also starring Tiger Shroff, was released in 2019 and will be followed by Pathaan in 2023, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone.
Pathaan 2 with Shah Rukh, Tiger vs Pathaan starring Salman and Shah Rukh, and Alpha, billed as the first female-led YRF Spy Universe film featuring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, are all in the works for the banner.
