Sonakshi Sinha recently married, however her brother did not attend the ceremony. Here’s how she described their childhood dynamic.
Last year, during Sonakshi Sinha’s wedding, her brother Love and Kush were conspicuously absent. Upset tweets and media interviews suggested that everything was not well between the siblings, and that the brothers may be opposed to Sonakshi marrying Zaheer Iqbal. In a recent interview, Sonakshi reflects on her childhood bond with her brothers and the connection they shared growing up.
Sonakshi’s relationship with her brothers.
Sonakshi admitted to Hauterrfly that the siblings would frequently engage in ‘hathapai (fist fights)’ as children. Main ghar ki sabse chhoti aur sabse zyada laadli thi, is wajah se bhaiyon ko jalan hoti thi, aur nateeja yeh tha ki maar mujhe hi padti thi.
Is there tension in the family?
Sonakshi Sinha married her longtime partner, Zaheer Iqbal, in a civil ceremony at her Bandra home in June 2024. Notably, her brothers, Luv and Kussh, did not attend the wedding. Their father, Shatrughan Sinha, addressed their absence, saying, “I understand their anguish and confusion.” “There is always a cultural reaction.” He admitted that at their age, he might have responded similarly, but highlighted that maturity and experience influenced his more controlled attitude.
Despite his sons’ absence, Shatrughan showed his satisfaction during the wedding festivities and supported his daughter’s decision.
