Sara Ali Khan’s dramatic weight loss journey is one for the ages. The actor used to weigh 96 kg and lost 45 kg with perseverance, a healthy diet, and a combination of cardio and strength training workouts. In an earlier interview with Ranveer Allahbadia (aka beerbiceps), Sara discussed her weight reduction journey, what prompted her to reduce weight, her struggles, and how she overcome them.
I was not overweight; I broke the weighing scale.
When asked about being overweight and her confidence in losing weight, Sara replied, “I wasn’t overweight; I smashed the weighing scale…Frequently, you can find yourself in a downward spiral. So, if you wake up in the morning weighing 85 kgs and nothing fits, what is the difference between 85 and 96 kgs? The worst possible outcome occurred, and it’s exactly what I went through. Back in college, I was already carrying extra weight, so what does being heavier mean? Simply put, fat is fat. so let me have that brownie.”
As Ranveer admitted that he was likewise overweight as a child and that the ‘fat kid’ inside him still exists, Sara concurred, saying, It never goes away. The fat compound stays in the brain permanently.
‘I have to be quite aware of what I consume.’
Sara added that, despite losing a significant amount of weight since then, she continues to struggle with her weight today. She revealed that she had gained excess weight and was advised to work on losing it. My body grew bulkier, and my face expanded in size; it’s just how things go. I have to be extra aware of what I consume. She emphasized that keeping her weight in check is of utmost significance to her.
Who motivated Sara to shed weight?
When asked what caused her to drop almost 45 kg (the actor used to weigh 96 kilograms), Sara had one answer: Karan Johar. The director wanted to cast her in a film and requested her to shed ‘half of her’ weight.
When questioned about her motivation to lose weight and stay committed, Sara responded, “I was huge, honestly.” It was not healthy at any level. I’ve been managing a hormonal imbalance that continues to impact me.. Every time I overeat or reach the 60 kilogram level, you can see I’m not doing well.”
She mentioned that keeping track of your diet is important, as it affects not only your appearance but also plays a key role in maintaining hormonal balance, which is vital for overall well-being.. She continued by emphasizing that individuals who are overweight need to recognize the effects of poor dietary choices, as they can affect not only physical appearance but also mental health and hormone balance.
