On April 14, two assailants on a motorcycle fired four rounds at Salman Khan’s residence before escaping. The actor suspects gangster Lawrence Bishnoi was behind the attack, allegedly aiming to harm him and his family.
Lawrence Bishnoi, who is currently in jail, has had continuous conflicts with Salman Khan and has threatened him multiple times. Their feud began after Salman Khan’s conviction in the 1998 Blackbuck shooting case.
The Bishnoi group considers Blackbucks to be sacrosanct, and Lawrence Bishnoi has pledged to target Salman Khan. The April 14 fire indicated a significant increase in the Bishnoi gang’s threats against the actor.
In October, the murder of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique in Mumbai heightened the unrest. The 66-year-old politician was widely recognized for his close bond with Salman Khan.
Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother, Anmol, a crucial accused in the Baba Siddique murder case, has been jailed in the United States. In their chargesheet, the Mumbai Police indicated that Siddique’s strong relationship with Salman Khan was a primary motivator for the murder.
Salman Khan had previously received a similar threat from an unknown caller seeking ₹2 crore. The Worli police have opened a case against the unidentified person who sent repeated WhatsApp messages to the Mumbai Police traffic hotline number.
