The Kerala Police’s Special Investigation Team (SIT) arrested businessman Boby Chemmanur on Wednesday in connection with a sexual harassment complaint lodged against him by Malayalam actor Honey Rose.
According to reports, Chemmanur was brought into jail in Wayanad. He has been booked under non-bailable sections in response to Rose’s complaint.
In her lawsuit, Rose accused Chemmanur of making “repeated sexually coloured” statements about her.
Rose responded to the police activity by saying that she had a peaceful day.
Who is Honey Rose?
Honey Rose Varghese is a popular South Indian actor who primarily works in the Malayalam film industry.
She has also appeared in Tamil and Telugu films, the most recent being the 2023 action drama ‘Veera Simha Reddy’, in which Nandamuri Balakrishna plays the hero.

In a Facebook post on Sunday, Rose accused someone of stalking her and making sexually inappropriate statements on social media networks. The 33-year-old actor did not divulge his identify at the time.
However, the situation worsened after other people left rude comments on her page, causing the actor to contact the police.
According to a report, the Kochi Central Police initiated a case against 30 people and arrested one of them on this basis.
On Tuesday, Honey Rose published a new social media post mentioning influential businessman Boby Chemmannur.
“I filed a complaint with the Ernakulam Central Police Station on your (Chemmanur’s) repeated disparaging statements about me. I will take the same action on your fans who hold the same beliefs. “You can continue to rely on your wealth, but I believe in the Indian legal system,” she wrote in her Facebook post.

Chemmanur owns a jewellery firm in Kerala and, according to his website, is the creator of the Life Vision Charitable Trust, a philanthropic organization. According to his website, in April 2014, Boby Chemmanur ran a record-breaking 812-kilometer marathon from Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram to establish the “world’s largest blood bank.”

“She went to two of my inaugural ceremonies. We danced. I used to tell jokes. She appeared to have no problem with those things. “And now she has filed a complaint against me after months,” the businessman was reported as adding.
