Following Aaradhya Bachchan’s legal action against misinformation, the Delhi High Court issued notifications to Google and other web sites.

Aaradhya Bachchan, the daughter of Aishwarya and Abhishek Bachchan, petitions the Delhi High Court to remove inaccurate content; the court serves summons on Google and others.

Aaradhya Bachchan, the daughter of famed actors Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan, has petitioned the High Court for the removal of deceptive online content. According to Bar and Bench, the Delhi High Court has issued a notice in response to her request for a summary judgment on the dissemination of incorrect information about the 13-year-old.

Several defendants, including Google and various online platforms, have received legal notices. The next hearing on the subject is planned for March 17th. This follows an earlier verdict in April 2023, when the Delhi High Court ordered Google to remove fraudulent videos stating Aaradhya was ‘critically ill’ or had died.

During the 2023 proceedings, Justice C Hari Shankar severely denounced the spread of such content, stating that every child deserved dignity and respect. He stated that distributing false information regarding a minor’s health is “entirely unacceptable in law.”

The court had already ordered Google to divulge the identities of the companies responsible for uploading such content, as well as to swiftly flag any future misleading videos for removal. Additionally, the central government was directed to block access to such material, while Google was reminded of its legal responsibility to adhere to the regulatory system.
