David Pearce, 42, has been convicted of the murder of model Christy Giles and her friend, along with the sexual assault of seven other women.
A Los Angeles court found Hollywood producer David Pearce guilty of murdering model Christy Giles and her friend, Hilda Marcela Cabrales Arzola. On Tuesday, the New York Post revealed that a jury found him guilty on all counts, including the assault of seven women who stepped forward following the discovery of Christy and Hilda’s remains. The two women died in a drug overdose in 2021.
David Pearce was found guilty.
Pearce, 42, was charged with the murders of Christy (24), and Hilda (26).The ruling revealed that the Hollywood producer encountered them at a party and enticed them to his apartment by pretending to be a powerful industry figure. Pearce administered fentanyl-laced cocaine and contaminated their drinks. After the two fell unconscious, he did not summon help.
Christy Giles and Hilda Marcela Cabrales Arzola were murdered by Pearce and his wingman, Michael Ansbach, who met them at a warehouse party in Los Angeles in 2021. Ansbach, too, blacked out after ingesting cocaine but eventually awoke. Ansbach said that he asked Pearce to contact 911, but his companion allegedly refused, stating, “Dead girls don’t talk.”
The prosecution claimed that when Ansbackh left, Pearce and his roommate Brandt Osborn loaded the women’s bodies into his car and abandoned them on the side of the road.
Seven more victims came forward after the case became public in 2021-22, alleging that Pearce raped them by promising them positions in Hollywood films and then drugging them. The prosecution portrayed Pearce as a deliberate and methodical serial offender.
Pearce faces 128 years to life in jail with no hope of parole. Brandt Osborn is also being tested as an accessory.
