Allu Arjun is arrested by Hyderabad police for the Stampede incident.
After a rush at the *Pushpa 2: The Rule* screening claimed the life of a 35-year-old lady, Hyderabad police arrested the well-known Telugu actor. The event happened on December 4 at a Hyderabad theater during the premiere of his most recent movie. Sriteja, the woman’s 9-year-old son, was hospitalized after asphyxia, and Revathi, the woman, died.
The Incident’s Background
A massive crowd had assembled at Sandhya Theater, located near the bustling RTC Crossroads in Hyderabad, to catch a glimpse of the actor. Tragically, the chaos led to Revathi’s death, while her young son sustained injuries in the commotion. Revathi’s son is currently recuperating at the hospital, according to police confirmation.
Legal Action Against Others and Allu Arjun
After the victim’s relatives filed a complaint, the Chikkadpally Police Station opened a case under Sections 105 and 118(1) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The case holds the theater management, Allu Arjun, and his security detail accountable.
To arrest Allu Arjun and interview him, a group of police officials from the Chikkadpally station went to his home in Jubilee Hills. He was then escorted to the police station for further interrogation about the incident.
More Misfortune At *Pushpa 2* Screenings
On the same day as *Pushpa 2: The Rule* was screened, another fan tragically died in an unrelated coincidence. According to Kalyandurgam’s Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Ravi Babu, theater cleaning personnel discovered 35-year-old Harijan Madhannappa dead on Monday night. Authorities are presently looking into the precise cause of his death, although preliminary investigations indicate that he had attended the matinee show while intoxicated.
The Reaction of Allu Arjun to the Incident
In an attempt to get the FIR against him dismissed, Allu Arjun petitioned the Telangana High Court on Wednesday. In addition, he asked that all further actions—including his arrest—be put on hold until the petition was settled.
The actor had previously offered the deceased woman’s family ₹25 lakh in financial support to get them through their difficult period.
The case is anticipated to be heard by the High Court in the next few days.
