On the sidelines of 24H Dubai 2025, actor Ajith Kumar disclosed his aspirations to focus on racing rather than filmmaking.
Ajith Kumar is committed to following his love for racing, even if it requires scaling back his roles in films. On the margins of the 24H Dubai 2025 endurance event, the owner of Ajith Kumar Racing told the press that he would only sign films during the off-season.
Ajith Kumar talks about his passion for racing and his journey in filmmaking. When questioned about his film career and whether any commitments hindered his racing activities, he responded without hesitation, saying, “No one needs to instruct me on what I can or can’t do. I plan to pursue motorsports as both a driver and team owner, thus I will not be signing films until the racing season begins. And I plan to make films between October and March, before the racing season begins. I’ll act in films so no one worries, and I’ll race at full throttle.
He also mentioned that he had competed in the BMW Asian Championship, British Formula 3, and European Formula 2, but was unable to compete as much as he would have liked owing to filming commitments. At the age of 18, I began racing motorcycles in my hometown in India, but soon after, I shifted my focus to pursuing a career. I began working in the film sector before returning to racing in 2002, at the age of 32. But not in motorcycles or four-wheelers. Before competing on the global stage, I took part in national championships across India. But I could only do a couple of them due to job responsibilities,” he explained.
Ajith recently caused concern among fans when his car went out of control and collided with a barrier during a practice run for the endurance event in Dubai. The actor luckily emerged without any injuries.
Upcoming Work.
