On Sunday night, a man in Telangana snuck into a liquor store and stole booze in preparation for the New Year 2025 celebrations. During the theft, he stole cash and liquor bottles but delayed his escape due to the temptation of drinking. This resulted in a binge session that left him inebriated and comatose for about 24 hours.
According to reports, he remained unconscious through Monday night. An image of the thief sprawled on the store floor, surrounded by scattered cash and bottles of alcohol, quickly gained widespread attention online.
How did he get caught?
The thief, ecstatic about his large haul just before New Year’s Day, decided to celebrate with a few drinks. He eventually passed out, and the shop workers discovered him the next morning.
Cash and liquor bottles lay scattered around him, and he looked to have a small facial injury, probably from the break-in.

Afterward, he was transported to a hospital.Police are still looking into whether he had any accomplices, Narsing said.
