On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate seven major infrastructure projects in Delhi and lay the groundwork for them.
The Delhi Traffic Police issued an alert for Friday, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi prepares to inaugurate and lay the groundwork for several development projects in the national capital.
PM Narendra Modi will visit freshly constructed flats for Jhuggi Jhopri (JJ) cluster residents as part of the In-Situ Slum Rehabilitation Project at Swabhiman Apartments in Ashok Vihar, Delhi, approximately 12:10 p.m. Modi will also launch two urban rehabilitation projects: the World Trade Centre (WTC) in Nauroji Nagar and the General Pool Residential Accommodation (GPRA) Type-II Quarters in Sarojini Nagar.
The Prime Minister will inaugurate 1,675 freshly constructed flats for JJ cluster residents and give over keys to qualified beneficiaries at Swabhiman Apartments in Ashok Vihar, Delhi.
PM Modi is also set to address a public gathering at Ramleela Ground in northwest Delhi, kicking off his campaign for the forthcoming assembly elections. The Election Commission has yet to declare the election dates. Modi’s second rally is slated for January 5 at Japanese Park in Rohini.
The Delhi Police released a notification outlining traffic restrictions implemented due to a VVIP visit in northwest Delhi. The advisory states:
Traffic is predicted to be heavy on several roadways.
To ensure smooth traffic flow and reduce public inconvenience, designated routes will be subject to restrictions such as closures or limited movement.
Traffic restrictions on these routes.
Mall Road (Ring Road): Hakikat Nagar Red Light to Azadpur Chowk (both directions).
GTK Road connects Azadpur Chowk to Gurudwara Nanak Pio. Bhamashah Marg connects Model Town-1 to Nanak Pio.
Lala Achhintam Marg and Brahma Kumari Marg serve the Gujranwala and Derawal localities.
Nahar Singh Marg connects Prembari Chowk to Inderlok Metro Station (both sides).
Gulab Singh Marg serves as the link between Satyawati College and Prerna Chowk.
Swami Narayan Marg: Laxmi Bai College receives the Delhi Jal board’s red light.
Mahatma Gandhi Marg connects Britannia Chowk to Azadpur.

The Delhi Traffic Police advise stated that traffic restrictions would be in force from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on January 3.
Residents traveling to Azadpur, Model Town, Kingsway Camp, Gujranwala Town, Derawal Nagar, Swabhiman Apartment, and Ramleela Ground in Ashok Vihar should plan their journeys accordingly and give extra time for their commute.
The alert also urged motorists and the general public to be patient, respect traffic laws, and heed the instructions of traffic officers stationed at critical crossings. Visitors are encouraged to monitor traffic updates by following the official platforms of Delhi Traffic Police.
