Kudos to Arjun Kapoor for stepping back and letting the women take the spotlight, embracing the moment without hesitation!
Mere Husband Ki Biwi Movie Review: Mudassar Aziz’s latest film, Mere Husband Ki Biwi, is unlike Pati Patni Aur Woh, which is what makes it unique. There is no cheating here, thus it is not glorified. The problem, however, is that the aim does not always match the execution. And before we go any further, let us emphasize that Mere Husband Ki Biwi is a ‘love circle’ rather than a triangle, and what makes movie intriguing is the amount of front-footed screen time both ladies – Bhumi Pednekar and Rakul Preet Singh – have. They’re the driving force behind the story, and congratulations to Arjun Kapoor for letting his inhibitions – if any – surface!
The story follows the intertwined lives of Ankur, Prabhleen, and Antara. Set in Delhi, it begins with Piyush Mishra’s voice discussing modern weddings. Shortly later, Ankur is tortured by his wife Prabhleen, who is shown as a ghost attempting to strangle him with her jagged long hands. No, this is not a horror-comedy because this sequence is revealed to be Ankur’s dream – or nightmare – while he sleeps. The couple recently split, and Ankur has had a difficult time moving on from the entire experience. While he often sees Prabhleen in other women around him, it is evident that he is no longer in love with her.
