In the midst of the nepotism discussion in Bollywood, Shekhar Kapur’s daughter Kaveri Kapur voiced her concern about her cinematic debut.
Shekhar Kapur and Suchitra Krishnamoorthi’s daughter, Kaveri Kapur, made her Bollywood debut in Kunal Kohli’s romance film Bobby Aur Rishi Ki Love Story. The movie, which made its debut on Disney+ Hotstar, showcases the actor in a romantic storyline alongside Vardhan Kapur, the grandson of legendary actor Amrish Puri.
Kaveri on being nervous.
Kaveri admits to feeling the strain of her Bollywood debut, saying, “I am apprehensive, and I want people to like me. I understand the nepotism debate and can see both sides of the issue. I understand that people are frustrated because outsiders are not getting the opportunity they deserve. However, nepotism happens in all fields, just as a doctor’s child becomes a doctor and a lawyer’s child becomes a lawyer.
She went on to say, “Secondly, when you grow up in this world and become passionate about something, you will naturally want to pursue it.” As someone from a wealthy background, it would be silly not to seize the possibilities that arise. People who send hate to star children should consider this: if they were in the same situation, wouldn’t they do the same? Before disliking someone, put yourself in their shoes.”
About Bobby and Rishi’s Love Story.
Bobby Aur Rishi Ki Love Story is directed by Kunal Kohli, well known for films such as Fanaa and Hum Tum. The narrative centers around Bobby and Rishi, whose romance blossoms in Cambridge, only to be challenged by the complexities of life. Their journey together delves into the highs and lows of their bond, as they confront lingering doubts, clashing perspectives, and unforeseen hurdles that threaten to unravel their love. Aside from Vardhan and Kaveri, the film features Nisha Aaliya and Atul Sharma in prominent roles.
Kunal Kohli shares Shekhar Kapur’s reaction.
Filmmaker Kunal defended Kaveri, stating that her father, Shekhar, had no influence in her casting. He said, “It’s worth noting that neither Shekhar nor Suchitra called me. Shekhar never contacted Disney+ Hotstar to request a timetable for his daughter’s film. There was no involvement from his end. In reality, I phoned Shekhar and expressed my desire to collaborate with her. He was astonished and asked, ‘Really?’ He inquired if she really wanted to do this, and when I told him yes, he simply gave me her phone number. He just inquired, ‘How and why?’ And when I told my reasoning, we both laughed.”
