Christopher Nolan’s rereleased Interstellar surpasses Himesh Reshammiya’s Badass Ravikumar and Junaid Khan’s Loveyapa.

Over the weekend, Christopher Nolan’s re-released Interstellar grossed Rs. 10.31 crore, followed by Badass Ravikumar’s 6.6 crore and Loveyapa’s ₹4.4 crore.

In an unexpected turn of events, filmmaker Christopher Nolan’s re-released picture Interstellar has made more at the Indian box office (₹10.31 crore) than Himesh Reshammiya’s potboiler Badass Ravikumar (₹6.6 crore) and Junaid Khan-Khushi Kapoor’s Loveyapa.

Loveyapa’s overall Hindi occupancy rate was 16.35%, whereas Badass Ravi Kumar’s was 12.81%. Interestingly, despite a low box office result, Badass Ravi Kumar is becoming one of Himesh Reshammiya’s highest-grossing films to date. The movie serves as the official big-screen debut for Junaid and Khushi.

Over ten years ago, Christopher Nolan released a film that he might not have anticipated would achieve legendary status. Interstellar, featuring Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, and Matt Damon, stood apart from his earlier works. It masterfully blended deep human emotions with science fiction elements, crafting a narrative that was both profoundly intimate and vast in scale.

The film’s cult following was clear when it was re-released internationally in IMAX theaters, disappointing Indian fans who couldn’t see it in the premium format due to the release of Pushpa 2: The Rule. Now that Interstellar has been re-released in India, crowds have flocked to the theatres.

Interstellar, which was released in 2D and IMAX for a limited time in India, earned Rs. 2.72 crore on Friday, Rs. 3.77 crore on Saturday, and ₹3.81 crore on Sunday, bringing its total weekend earnings to Rs. 10.30 crore—one of the biggest re-release openings for an English-language film in India.
