Swara Bhasker criticizes Twitter for ‘permanently suspending’ her account over a ‘Republic Day wish’.

Swara Bhasker announced on Instagram that her X (Twitter) account has been permanently suspended for posting during Republic Day. These were her exact words.

Swara Bhasker resorted to Instagram to vent her outrage when her X (previously Twitter) account was permanently suspended. The artist voiced her frustration over the flagging of two of her tweets, one of which included a Republic Day greeting, for alleged copyright infringement.

Swara Bhasker’s Twitter account suspension.
Aside from the posts designated for copyright breaches, Swara provided screenshots of the notices she received from X. She wrote, “You can’t make this stuff up!!!!” Dear X, Two photos from two tweets have been identified as ‘copyright infringements’. My X account has been locked / disabled, and I am unable to use it. Your teams have accepted a permanent suspension.”

She then explained which of her posts had been flagged for violation. “One with an orange background and text in Hindi Devnagri script reading” Gandhi The slogan “Hum Sharmindaa hain, Tere qaatil zinda hain” is popular among India’s progressives. There is no infringement on copyright. It is similar to the urban modern folk idiom.

Swara then questioned how a photograph of her daughter could be designated for copyright infringement: “The second image marked as a violation is an image of MY OWN child with her face disguised, waving an Indian flag and writing ‘HAPPY REPUBLIC DAY INDIA’. How could this be a copyright infringement??? Who owns the copyright on my child’s image? These two complaints are utterly unreasonable and cannot be justified in any fair, logical, or objective understanding of copyright law.

The actor explained that any reports about the tweets were an effort to silence her right to free expression and speech. “If these tweets have been mass reported, they are designed to harass the user, i.e. The goal is to restrict my ability to speak and express myself freely. Please reconsider and reverse your decision. I appreciate it, Swara Bhaskar.
