Arjun Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar were filming a song for the movie Mere Husband Ki Biwi at the Royal Palms in Mumbai when the roof fell.
Arjun Kapoor, Jackky Bhagnani, and director Mudassar Aziz were hurt on set.The two stars were filming a song sequence at the Royal Palms in Mumbai when the ceiling fell. The report reportedly stated that several crew members on the set were hurt.
What occurred on the set?
According to Ashok Dubey of the Federation of Western India Cine Employees, the incident was caused by the sound system’s vibrations. “While shooting the song at Imperial Palace at Royal Palms, the ceiling fell, hurting Arjun Kapoor, Jackky Bhagnani, and Mudassar Aziz. Because the location has been there for a long time, the vibrations from the music caused the set to tremble, causing the remaining sections to shudder away,” he explained.
Ashok Dubey went on to say that the team has written to the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, and the BMC to express their safety concerns.
Choreographer Vijay Ganguly shared, “We were filming a song, and the first day turned out to be great. On the second day, everything was going fine until around 6 PM when we were taking a shot. While we were keeping watch, the ceiling unexpectedly caved in. Fortunately, it came down in sections, and we had a trough shielding us from harm. If the entire ceiling had collapsed on us, the outcome could have been catastrophic; however, several people were still injured. These historic sites are frequently chosen for shoots, and as production companies, we ensure that safety protocols are properly followed. However, many a times the safety of the location isn’t properly verified before it is offered for shooting.”
The shot included Arjun and Bhumi Pednekar.
